Indonesia's tourism investment grew 56% in 2025
Tourism investment in Indonesia rose to Rp 73.56 trillion in 2025, up from Rp 47.14 trillion in 2024 - a 56% increase.
According to Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, the money still goes mainly to Bali and Jakarta - into accommodation, food and other tourist services.
The government wants to steer investment elsewhere: 13 priority tourism destinations and special economic zones.
Indonesia received 10.58 million foreign tourists in January–August 2026, 5.38% more than a year earlier.
What it means for buyers: investment in tourist accommodation is growing by tens of percent, while tourist numbers grow by single digits. Competition for guests in Bali is getting tougher: look at the occupancy of nearby properties, not just the price.
