Bali to Receive $95M for New Roads and Bridges

"The Indonesian government has allocated about $95 million for Bali’s infrastructure development.

The funds have already been fully assigned to five major projects. The largest share — nearly $47 million — will go toward a new road connecting the north and south of the island, reducing travel time and easing some of the traffic congestion.

Another $22 million will be used to build an underpass in Jimbaran to relieve roads in the south, where tourists most often face heavy traffic. $15 million has been allocated for parking near Pura Batur Temple, which will help manage the influx of pilgrims during major holidays.

In addition, a bridge will be built between Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Lembongan for about $7 million to improve transport links, and nearly $4 million more will go toward a reservoir in Klungkung to supply water to the cultural center and nearby areas.

All projects are aimed at making Bali more convenient for tourists and local residents, reducing congestion, and supporting the island’s economic growth.
