Bali's governor: there is no mass sell-off of hotels and villas

Social media said hotels and villas were being dumped across Bali. Governor Koster answered with numbers. Officials found 524 hotel-related listings, but only 244 actual hotels and villas for sale, priced from Rp1.6 billion to Rp535 billion.‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌

He says demand is fine: 20,000–24,000 foreign and 12,000–14,000 domestic tourists arrive every day. He has ordered data on who is selling and why.‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌

What it means for buyers: the governor counted listings, not sales. Nobody publishes what properties actually sell for yet.‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌
