On 24 September the Bali government and two Indonesian ministries signed an agreement to launch 112 as a single emergency number on the island.‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍

It will handle fires, medical emergencies, natural disasters and public unrest. Calls are free from mobiles, landlines and a dedicated app. The call centre will run around the clock, and fire crews should arrive within 15 minutes.‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍

Bali is the pilot region. If it works, 112 will be rolled out across Indonesia. No launch date has been announced yet.‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍

What it means for buyers: one short number for any emergency is simpler than separate numbers for police, ambulance and fire. That is reassuring for tourists and villa residents.‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍
