Pondok Wisata: why this license doesn’t suit foreign investors or villa and complex rentals

Pondok Wisata does not work for projects with foreign participation or for renting out complexes. Pondok Wisata is a license for daily rental in a home where the owner lives and rents out part of the property to tourists. It is available only to Indonesian citizens and only as a micro-business. It is not suitable for companies with foreign capital or large complexes. Some developers mistakenly register Pondok Wisata, thinking this legalizes daily rental of villas or apartment hotels. But this license is not suitable for that format, and the supervisory authorities do not recognize it.
