Step outside the house.
Measure the noise near the road.
Go inside the house. Close the doors and windows.
Measure again.

Here’s how to read decibels:
up to 40 dB - almost silent. Bedroom, yoga, focus.
- 40−55 dB - comfortable. Urban, but calm.
- 55−65 dB - you can hear the street, but it’s livable.
- 65−80 dB - noisy. Cars, scooters, construction.
- 80+ dB - bad. Constant noise. It gets in the way of daily life.
Don’t guess - measure.
