Are Snake Bites Dangerous in Bali: Real Risks and Fatality Statistics
Can you die from a snake bite in Bali? Yes, venomous snakes do live in Bali. But fatal cases are extremely rare or unknown. According to information from open sources, only three fatal cases have been confirmed over the past 10-15 years: • in Ubud - a man and a girl bitten in their sleep • in a village - a rescuer who had contact with a cobra And that’s all. Why there are so few deaths: • hospitals have started using antivenom (BIOSAVE1) • bites usually happen in jungles, villages, and fields • tourists almost never end up in the risk zone • there are no unified public statistics If you do not live in a rice field and do not go into the bushes at night, the chance of dying from a snake bite in Bali is close to zero.
